- 6 to 12 months of age: InfantSEE™
InfantSEE™ is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child's quality of life. Under this program, our member optometrists will provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment within the first year of life at no cost, as a public health service. - 3 year olds: SEE TO LEARN®
Our SEE TO LEARN® program offers a free vision assessment to all three year olds. - Ages 4 or 5: Nebraska Pre-Kindergarten Eye Exams
Nebraska now requires children to have a vision evaluation prior to first entering school. The required evaluation consists of testing for amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (misalignment of the eyes), internal and external eye health, and visual acuity (ability to distinguish objects and shapes). - Grade-Schoolers and Teens
Clear, comfortable vision is an intergral part of good performance in school, and adds to the enjoyment of sports and other activites. And teens need to see their best to be safe drivers. Annual eye examinations are extremely important during these years of rapid growth. - Adults and Seniors
A lot happens to the human body as we become wiser and more mature with time. Vision that we once took for granted starts to fail, sometimes normally, sometimes not. Regular eye examinations (at least bi-annually until age 50 and annually thereafter) will help detect eye diseases and disorders that could lead to permanent loss of vision without treatment.
